The 18-year-long case has finally come to an end with Rajasthan High Court acquitting Salman Khan in the 1998 blackbuck and chinkara poaching case. In a major relief to Bollywood actor Salman Khan, the trial court here acquitted him in the poaching case. The actor was charged under the Arms Act for keeping and using firearms with an expired licence while poaching two black bucks in village Kankani near Jodhpur on 1-2 October 1998. So, let’s take a look at Salman Khan’s Blackbuck Verdict.
The Verdict Is Out
Khan’s acquittal in the Mumbai hit-and-run case and the poaching cases are nearly identical. In both cases, he was sentenced by the trial courts and acquitted in the High Court. With one more case of poaching against him yet to be decided, Salman will have to appear in the same court on January 25 for recording statements. Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Sonali Bendre and Neelam will also be appearing in the court the same day.
While the superstar’s strong fan base is supporting the verdict, there are others who are questioning the court’s order and calling it unfair. Fans of Salman Khan were Ecstatic, while others questioned the judgment shared their mixed reactions via social media platforms like facebook, twitter etc. However, Twitter’s reaction in the case has been mostly extreme and divided. Meanwhile, court’s decision resulted in the actor becoming the most talked about topic in India on Twitter on Wednesday. While his fans and colleagues expressed delight, others took to the social media site to question how he went free.
