Remember the popular saying? “The grass is always greener on the other side.” But, is it really? While employees think that an entrepreneur’s life is all hunky dory, entrepreneurs think the other way round. Which one is the ultimate winner out of the two: The Entrepreneur life or the employee life?
Entrepreneur Life VS Employee Life
Being an entrepreneur versus being an employee comes with its own set of experiences. While some people take the leap real quick, a few others take some time or are never able to do so. So how different are “Entrepreneurship vs employment” from each other?
1. The Tension
Entrepreneur Life: Lots of tension because if anything goes wrong, it is your money that gets screwed.
Employee Life: Lesser tension because if anything gets messed up, at the most, you’ll get FIRED!
2. Salary VS Profits
Entrepreneur Life: Not a fixed salary. But, you get your share of profits.
Employee Life: The employees are the fixed salary peeps. The company is in loss or profits, you get your salary at the end of the month.
Entrepreneur Life: You take responsibility for everything. Simply because you have to.
Employee Life: You take responsibility ONLY for the work given to you.
Entrepreneur Life: No fixed time. Work is life and Work is bae so you work 24X7.
Employee Life: The classic 9-5 routine. You work only during the office hours cause “You have a life.”
5. The Risk Factor
Entrepreneur Life: You am the risk bearer cause if anything goes wrong, man you are so done.
Employee Life: Negligible or No Risk at all.
Entrepreneur Life: No fixed income for the entrepreneur. So, security = Nil.
Employee Life: Whatever happens, an employee would get his salary at the end of the month. Security = 100%
Entrepreneur Life: Can work whenever you want to, from wherever you want to. And, can take a leave whenever you feel like.
Employee Life: You have to work from the designated place. For taking a leave you might have to go like, “I might die if I am not granted a leave today.”
And, the best one, you can quit whenever you want to.
8. Profit VS Credit
While the employee gets all the credit, the entrepreneur all happy with profits.
Entrepreneur Life: Profits
Employee Life: Credit
9. Work-Life Balance
Entrepreneur Life: Who cares? Work is Life. Entrepreneurs can work all the way.
Employee Life: Your boss is shouting on you but your girlfriend on call is doing a pregnancy test. What will you choose? Do you even have a choice?
Entrepreneur Life: Want to work near the swimming pool or at the pub or at your home. You name it and you work there.
Employee Life: A cubicle or a cabin for employees. Every day starts with the same place.
11. Working Hours
Entrepreneur Life: Unlimited. You work till my eyes can no longer remain open.
Employee Life: 9-5 working hours. You work only till the office hours.
