Russian Cuisine includes all the cuisines which are native to the Russian soil. The Russian cuisine is highly diversified due to a lot of European and Asian influences. There are a wide variety of soups like Light soup, noodle soup, v etc. Meat is an important part of the Russian cuisine. The preference of people to garnish meat dishes is porridge and cereals. Pelmeni, Kholodets, kotlety and Shashlyk are some of the famous Russian meat dishes.

Delicious Russian Foods

The Russian orthodox preferred fish to meat. Fresh water fish like carp and sudak are quite popular in Russia. Coming to desserts pies and pancakes are very famous in Russian cuisine. Pirozhki which are small stuffed buns are filled with many fillings and are widely eaten in different parts of Russia. It can be filled with meat, boiled rice, fish, potatoes etc. Blini is a type of pancake eaten in Russia. It is made with yeasted batter and has a ritual significance. Curd fritters like Syrniki garnished with sour cream, jam and honey are also famous for the Russian cuisine.

Russia has a unique part for some of the exotic beverages in its cuisine. Under the alcoholic category, Medovukha is the most famous. Kvass is a famous drink and is non-alcoholic. It contains around 0.5% alcohol and is quite tasty. In Russia, people eat a lot of cabbage, potatoes, and other tolerant greens. Classic Russian dishes include beef stroganoff, chicken kiev, beetroot broth, blini and cheese dumplings. Russian cuisine is not that famous around the globe when compared to other cuisines but this does not mean that it is not good.
